Leash Law Update

Leash Law Update

The City of Portland's Emergency Proclamation has been extended until January 4th 2021 by the City Council. Part of this order pertains to the City's Leash Laws.  It states that all provisions of the City Code permitting dogs to be off leash and under voice control on public streets or publicly owned or publicly accessible property are suspended during the hours between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Dogs continue to be permitted off leash and under voice control in the Ocean Avenue Dog Park and the Valley Street Park.  Please click here for information on our leash laws, and for more information on the Emergency Proclamation click here. Dog owners, please keep these updated leash laws in mind as you continue to enjoy Portland's Parks and Open Spaces this fall and winter!
